Data protection is key

Data protection has been build into the source because, from the beginning, IASO IP Backup was designed for use by multiple companies in the public Internet environment. Each IASO IP Backup solution has default three security layers:

Data encryption is standard

Generally, each backup client will be installed with its own encryption password, which is stored, of course encrypted, only on the client itself. The data cannot be read without this password. The standard encryption level is 128-bits AES, but more powerful encryption standards are available as well. The data will be transported and stored on the backup storage system in encrypted form.

Extra safety by network security

Even though the data encryption guarantees the security of the data sufficiently, standard SSL security is being used on the network layer as well.

Access control, logging and auditing

Both the Backup Manager client software and the Management Console are protected with user name and pass word. The Management Console features several access and autorisation levels. On top of that, the changes are being logged. This makes it very easy to audit.
